Tradd Cotter of Liberty, SC grows mushrooms at his Mushroom Mountain business. Cotter, a microbiology student at Clemson University is getting ready to write a book between studies and speaking engagements.
This part-farmer, part-scientist has learned how to pick mushrooms, how to identify them in the wild, how to grow them on everything from logs to denim jeans. Now he’s learning how different kinds of mushrooms can be used to clean up oil, to act as insecticides, and break down the paper that we throw away.
