Spring Festivals
It’s not too early to start planning your Spring outings, is it? There are lots of things happening in the Upcountry when our area is bursting with flowers and sunshine. You can always use our Virtual Suitcase on our website to help you perfectly plan your trip. Here are some ideas to get you started:
IrishFest in Gaffney Free, family fun with music, dancing, art for the kids plus a 5K to get the day started.
KidsFest at Hagood Mill A variety of entertainment by and for children. Highlights of the festival will be musical performances by the Young Appalachian Musicians (Y.A.M.S.), as well as a special washboard and kazoo workshop by Buffalo Barfield and a basic clogging and dance workshop.
Tame the Tyger River Race and Festival Race or float this classic whitewater run. All participants will have the chance to win prizes and enjoy bluegrass, BBQ, boat demos, and more at the finish.
Historic Pendleton Spring Jubilee Over 300 artisans vie for the coveted 90 spaces. Local and regional entertainers fill the air with music as thousands of people pour into historic Pendleton.
SC Chili Cook-off Championship This event draws cooks from all over to qualify the South Carolina contender for the International Chili Society’s World Finals. Featuring live entertainment, childrens activities, arts and crafts vendors and, of course, lots of chili.
Pickens Azalea Festival The Festival resembles a large family reunion and features an antique car cruise, arts & crafts, games for children and live music by The Tams & Little Texas.
