Geotrail Trail Explores Spartanburg County Heritage

Geotrail Trail Explores Spartanburg County Heritage

Hit the trail and explore the history of Spartanburg.

Spartanburg Parks Commission’s LEAF Outdoor Recreation and Upstate South Carolina Geocachers Association (USCGA) have partnered to bring the first geotrail to the Upcountry.

The Heritage Geotrail is a series of geocaches that will take participants on a historical tour of Spartanburg County. Participants will visit various locations that are significant to the heritage of the county. Each registered geocacher that finds 16 of the 20 caches, logs his or her finds at geocaching.com, and submits a fully completed Spartanburg County Heritage Geotrail Worksheet to LEAF Outdoor Recreation will receive a limited edition, trackable geocoin while supplies last.

The Spartanburg County Heritage Geotrail opened to the public at 9:00AM on September 17, 2010.
